Title: Day to Day Cafeteria Substitute

 

FUNCTION: Day to day cafeteria substitute, works in liaison with the cafeteria staff for providing services, which will afford

                 students a safe, clean and efficient place in which to eat lunch.

 

Day to Day Assignment as Needed (Locations Vary)

DUTIES:

  1. Kitchen duties for the typical cafeteria worker include prep and assembly of various entrees, hamburgers, sandwiches and wraps, bagel lunches, salads, and veggie plates. Prep and assemble pizzas and other items as assigned by Lead Cook.
  2. All food items being prepared for sale to students must be prepared according to exact specifications, recipes or other directives from Lead Cook or Food Service Director (FSD).
  3. Prep and cooking includes use of the following equipment: buffalo chopper, shredder, deli slicer and knives, convection and conventional ovens, steamers, kettles, and deep fryers.
  4. Cleaning duties include hand washing of pots, pans, utensils, and other cooking equipment. Each work station and all equipment must be kept clean and sanitary per HACCP standards.  Assist in wiping down all cafeteria tables in dining area.
  5. Cashiering responsibilities include verifying and balancing cash drawers, keeping records as directed, and adhering to all rules regarding the use of the POS system, including verifying that computer photo is that of each purchasing customer.
  6. Other duties include stocking a la carte items, serving lunches in the proper portion as instructed by Lead Cook or FSD.
  7. All food handlers must adhere to proper food safety guidelines.
  8. Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Lead Cook or FSD.
