TITLE: District SEL MTSS Team Member (10 positions - preferably 2 per school) 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The SEL MTSS Team will support the continued advancement of our district's Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) with a focus on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Mental Health. Team members will collaborate to develop systems, identify assessment tools, and implement evidence-based curriculum and practices that strengthen our approach to meeting students’ SEL needs across all tiers of support.  This role will focus on identifying, planning, and supporting pilot initiatives related to SEL screening, student support processes, and Tier 1 instructional practices, tools, and curriculum. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Support the development and implementation of a Tier 1 SEL curriculum for grades K–8, including instructional practices, curricular materials, classroom integration, professional learning, and systems for gathering and incorporating feedback.
2. Develop and support a comprehensive, district-wide system of tiered SEL instruction and intervention across Tiers 1, 2, and 3, ensuring consistency across schools and grade levels and establishing a clear progression of SEL competencies, skills, and concepts.
3. Coordinate the planning and implementation of an SEL screening pilot for grades K–12, including evaluation and selection of screening tools, implementation logistics, data collection, and procedures for reviewing and using screening results to identify student needs.
4. Develop, refine, and support implementation of Student Support Team (SST) and/or Response to Intervention (RtI) processes, including protocols for identifying student needs, developing interventions, monitoring progress, and making data-informed decisions.
5. This position includes after school meetings and independent project work as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Must be a current member of the Bellingham Public Schools staff 
2. Demonstrated understanding of MTSS frameworks and SEL practices 
3. Experience with student support systems, intervention processes, or SEL instruction preferred 
4. Strong collaboration, organization, and data management skills 
5. Commitment to promoting equitable, student-centered practices 

SALARY: $33/hour, subject to grant funding 

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning

The district is split into the following building grade levels: DiPietro Elementary (Preschool – Grade 3), Stall Brook Elementary (Preschool – Grade 3) Bellingham Memorial School (grades 4-7) and Bellingham High School (grades 8-12), and Keough Memorial Academy (grades 7-12) is our therapeutic day school for students with special needs.
