TITLE: Long Term Sub Math Teacher-High School
SCHEDULE: January 2025 - End of 2024-2025 School Year
POSITION SUMMARY:
Math Teacher teaches mathematical concepts and formulas to students. Math teachers explain math concepts, follow curriculum frameworks, organizes activities, assigns appropriate homework, grades tests and prepares students for exams. This position teaches Algebra I and Grade 8 Math
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish clear objectives for all units, daily lessons, and projects, and effectively communicate these objectives to students both verbally and virtually on google classroom.
- Utilize the Bellingham High School mathematics curriculum to design and implement lesson plans that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students and employ a variety of instructional techniques.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all learners.
- Analyze student data individually and with the department members on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Hold office hours for students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested.
- Actively create and maintain an environment in which students’ diverse backgrounds, identities, strengths, and challenges are respected.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to read, interpret, and apply student performance data to instructional planning and execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent communication and collaboration skills
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and/or DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:
- Appropriate MA DESE Certification Required
- At least one year of full-time teaching experience or completion of a student teaching program
- Bachelor’s degrees required.
- Masters’s degree preferred.
SALARY: As per BTA contract
CLASSIFICATION: BTA
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
You are required to be physically capable of escorting students from the building in case of a practice drill or emergency situation in a safe and timely fashion.
Must be able to move about the classroom and have the ability to bend, sit or stand frequently.
